Base64 Encode & Decode
Encode text or a file to Base64, or decode Base64 back to text. UTF-8 and URL-safe.
Percent-encode a value before it goes into a URL, or decode a link full of %20 and %3D so you can read it. Choose whether slashes and question marks get encoded too.
Paste or type to begin. Everything runs in your browser.
How it works
Choose Encode or Decode and paste your text or URL.
For encoding, pick Component to escape everything for a query value or path segment, or Full URL to keep : / ? & = in place.
Copy the result. Tick Each line separately to convert a list of values at once.
FAQ
Both mean a space. %20 works anywhere in a URL; + only means a space in query strings sent by forms. In a path, + is a literal plus sign.
In Component mode, letters, digits and - _ . ! ~ * ' ( ). Full URL mode also keeps ; , / ? : @ & = + $ #, the characters that give a URL its structure.
A % must be followed by two hex digits, and the bytes must form valid UTF-8. A stray % (as in “100%”) needs to be written as %25.
