How to use the Image Color Picker

  1. 01

    Drop in an image, browse for one, or paste a screenshot from your clipboard.

  2. 02

    Move over the image and watch the loupe, then click to pick the pixel under the crosshair.

  3. 03

    Copy the HEX, RGB or HSL code. Picked colors are kept in a row below, next to the image's main palette.

Good to know

  • Photos have noise, so neighboring pixels can differ a little. Zoom with the loupe and pick from a flat area, or use the palette for an average color.
  • Colors are read in sRGB. Images saved in a wider color space, like iPhone photos in Display P3, may read slightly differently than in a design app.
  • In Chrome and Edge, Pick from screen grabs a color from anywhere on your display, not just the image.

Frequently asked questions

How is the palette chosen?

The image's pixels are grouped by similar color and each group is averaged, so the palette shows the colors covering the most area, with each one's share.

Is my image uploaded?

No. It's drawn on a canvas in this tab and never leaves your device.
